Just in time for New Year’s parties and all those bowl games – we’ve gathered 10 mouth-watering recipes for healthy, easy, hot appetizer dips. We absolutely can’t wait to try these, and are super-excited to share them with you!

After hours reading our fave blogs and sifting through our megalodon-sized recipe collections, we finally agreed on the 10 recipes for hot appetizer dips that we are dying to make.

For our Top 10 lists, we specifically look for recipes that generally fit our THK requirements of being healthy or offering nutritious advantages. Of course, whenever possible, we’re always fans of subbing lower-fat dairy products, and adding in a few more whole grains or veggies – all those usual THK tricks. But, with maybe just a minor tweak here or there, these are all recipes we would feel good about serving to family and friends. We think you’ll feel good about them, too!

Happy New Year, friends! We can’t wait to share 2014 with you!

  1. I have tried the original version of the buffalo chicken dip. Probably won’t make it again because I don’t have enough self control to stop eating it. Crazy amazing stuff! Maybe I’ll make the healthier version and won’t feel as guilty for polishing off the whole bowl. 😉

    1. Haha Jenn – I know what you mean! I can’t stand too close to the dip or I’ll eat every last bit! It’s definitely a fave at our house!
I certainly wouldn’t judge you if you ate the whole bowl of the healthy stuff – as long as you wouldn’t judge me for doing the same! 🙂 ~Gretchen

  2. This is such a fantastic group of recipes! Hot dips have such a bad rap for being heavy and greasy, but I LOVE them! I’m so impressed by these gorgeous, healthy recipes. Great resource for entertaining! Pinning now! Happy Healthy New Year to you lovely ladies! It’s been such a pleasure getting to know you this year and hope that at some point in 2014, our paths will cross and we’ll get to meet in person!

    1. Happy New Year Caroline! We’ve really enjoyed getting to know you as well – meeting in person would be sooo much fun!
Yes, hot dips are usually a little more of an indulgence! But we found lots of awesome, healthier options … and the ones we’ve made so far were delicious! Can’t wait to try more! 😀 ~G&S

    1. Hi, Jerin! I have to admit that I only rarely have rutabaga (aka Swede), but I do love turnips, which I believe are sort of Swede’s “kissing cousin”! Swede topped with cheese – yum! I’d be so curious if you roasted it or mashed it, etc. before adding the (wonderful!) cheese! Mmmmmm … yummy regardless! Thanks so much for stopping by! 😀 ~Shelley
