Oh, you totally know the one I’m talking about.
She’s the one who always has fabulously decorated cupcakes for every single occasion. (Halloween. Valentine’s Day. Teacher appreciation lunches. Really? Yes.)
The one who organizes class parties down to the slightest, sweetest detail so that the children will remember it for the rest of their lives. The one who is always, always put together with perfectly styled hair and an incredibly tidy home. She never runs late and is always in a good mood.
She can’t be real. Oh … but she is …
And then it happens. Your daughter becomes besties with hers.
Before you know it, playdates are plentiful and the girls are begging for a sleepover.
Ugh. You just know that your little blue-eyed beauty is going to come home with stories of grandeur about the fabulous activities and amazing breakfast she had.
How can you ever measure up to that?!?
I’ll tell you how … you’re gonna host that first sleepover and you’re gonna be that mom!
Oh yes you are!!
All the moms will be asking for your recipe because their daughters won’t stop talking about breakfasts at your house! (Go ahead and do a happy dance. You know you want to!)
I know. This seems … overwhelming. But it’s seriously the easiest thing in the world!
Just greet those slumber party besties with your favorite pancakes or waffles … all dressed up with our Strawberries and Cream Topping! Breakfast will be transformed into something magical! (And literally bowl-licking delicious … you may just have to sneak a few spoonfuls of topping for yourself!)
Oh – and this crème da la crème (or should I say strawberry cream better than all strawberry creams?) – well, it only takes about 3.2 seconds! (So, maybe you can sleep in just a little later …)
You win (especially if you’ve used our whole-grain recipes! 😀 ) because you’ve just served up a wholesome breakfast. With no sugar crash! Hooray! And the kids feel like they won because breakfast was special and fun and super yummy.
And, you’ll just keep this new fave topping recipe in your back pocket for special occasions where you want to impress (like teachers’ breakfasts or a ladies’ brunch) or just a regular ol’ Tuesday!
Psssst … wanna know a little secret? You’re also going to want to keep this recipe in mind when you see the French Toast Casserole recipe we’ve got for you on Thursday. That casserole is the whole reason we created this Strawberries and Cream Topping in the first place. It’s … shall we say … nearly life changing (or, at least, brunch-changing).
Pancakes? Waffles? French Toast? This Strawberries and Cream Topping rocks them all!
See how easy that was? Yep. You’ve got it all together, girlfriend! Now, you’re the mom that we all admire!

- 1 1/4 cups hulled, chopped strawberries
- 1 cup nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup 100% fruit seedless strawberry jelly
- 1 1/2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix all ingredients together.
- Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until needed.
Notes
Make-ahead tips: While it's delicious immediately, this Strawberries and Cream Topping can also be mixed together ahead of time and refrigerated until serving. You can easily mix it together even the night before, and leftovers can be refrigerated for a day or two more. The strawberries begin to meld into the sauce a little as it sits and lend the topping a brighter pink color, but it's still perfectly delicious.
