But getting the flavor balance just right makes allllll the difference. I’m sharing the key tricks we discovered after extensive testing (and lots of sipping)
Slice the cucumber about 1/8" thick (you should have approximately 24-30 slices, or a heaping 1 cup).
Let sit at least 10 minutes, or (refrigerated) up to 2-3 days. The flavor will become stronger the longer the water sits, and after a while the citrus flavor will become too strong and bitter.
You don’t need to get obsessive about this, and you can absolutely vary the precise ratio to suit your personal tastes.
