THK PBJ Bites 4

We have some really exciting news. Like … we apologize now if our cheers and squeals hurt your ears.

No, really … we’re just sooo excited! (“And we just can’t hide it!” … Uh-huh … are you singing “I’m So Excited” in your head? ‘Cause we are!)

So … what’s the big news?

Well, we’re SO thrilled to share with you that we were invited to do a guest post (our very first ever!) for a food blogger that we both really, really admire! It’s seriously an honor!

Julia, from A Cedar Spoon, contacted us a few months ago and asked us if we’d be interested in writing a guest post while she spends some time with her gorgeous newborn son, Andrew. (And, of course, that’s got us just all excited, too – we’re so happy for Julia as she welcomes her second little guy into her wonderful family!)

At first we were a tiny bit nervous. (Julia’s blog is totally gorgeous and her recipes are delish … we’ve even featured her in our hot dips roundup!) But we got over that nervousness quick-quick and went right to work!

It didn’t take too long for us to decide that the recipe we created for Julia just had to be a Snack Bite recipe. In our little corner of the world, we’re amazed at how many times our friends tell us about how Snack Bites have saved their day.

It seems that people love these little gems of health and deliciousness for all sorts of reasons. They’re after-school, pre-soccer-game, post-workout, hectic-afternoon, and quick-on-the-way-to-work snacks. (Ummm … so, really anytime snacks.)

Since Julia already had a toddler at home, we knew the recipe needed to be something that he would love, too. And then it came to us …

Peanut Butter and Jelly!!!

THK PBJ Bites 2

Yes! Yes! That would be what we would share with Julia!

The quintessential childhood favorite, all rolled up in a neat-to-eat little bite.

We remember the days when our kiddos were teeny. When it came time for running errands (or running to playgroup) there was literally a 3.2837289-minute window once everyone was changed and dressed … to get out of the house. Otherwise, it was time for someone’s nap, or it was someone’s snack time, or maybe your energy was just zapped (well, actually that energy problem was kinda the norm …).

Introduce the PB&J Snack Bite.

And it’s here to save the day!

Creamy all-natural peanut butter, pure-fruit strawberry jelly, dried cranberries, flax, and just a hint of cinnamon combine to make the most wonderfully kid-friendly, snack-you-can-feel-good-about-giving-your-family Snack Bite!

Make ’em, freeze ’em, pull ’em out when you need ’em.

By the time you get to the grocery store and someone is starving (happens every time!), these beauties will be thawed – and you can just reach right in your bag and pull out the perfect snack to stop an energy-crash-tantrum in its tracks! Perfect for both salty and sweet cravings, too!

THK PBJ Bites 3

Just  full of really good-for-you, wholesome ingredients that will keep you totally full and happy until you can get home! Lifesaver!

And while we’re talking PB&J … let’s be totally up front and honest … how many of you still enjoy a good, old-fashioned peanut butter and jelly sandwich from time to time? We’re not ashamed! Gretchen still eats one for lunch almost every day! Love ’em! If you’re with us on this one, definitely also check out our Strawberry-Peanut Butter Quesadillas!

And, to find our recipe for Peanut Butter and Jelly No-Bake Snack Bites, please head on over to A Cedar Spoon. You’re gonna love these newest Snack Bites … and Julia’s fabulous, inspiring blog, too!

  2. I was so excited to try another kind of snack bites so I made them the day you posted it! My oldest doesn’t like peanut butter and jelly but she loves these!! Love this new snack bite recipe!!

    • Wow! What a fabulous compliment! Thank you so, so much for taking the time to pop back to our site and let us know how much you and your family loved these! That really means a lot! And hey – if we start a Snack Bite fan club, we’re thinking you’ll be the first president. Deal?!?!? 😀 Seriously though – thanks a million! Have an awesome weekend! ~G&S

    • Thanks so much, Julie! Our kids are so happy when we tuck Snack Bites in their lunch or send some along in their backpacks if they’re heading straight to after-school activities! Plus, we’re happy knowing that they’ve got the good-quality fuel they need so they don’t have an energy bonk right in the middle of a test … or soccer practice … or band … or, well, you get the idea! 😀 ~G&S

    • Hi, Judit! Thanks so much for your kind words! And honestly – our families eat Snack Bites all throughout the day, for sure! They’re the perfect fuel to start your day as emergency grab-and-go breakfasts, and great little power snacks all day long, plus we’re even happy to nibble them as something-a-little-sweet desserts. So awesome when the kiddos are even happy to call something this healthy “dessert!” 😀 Hope you and Corina have a fabulous weekend! ~G&S

  3. You two are so cute — and so, so sweet to do this for Julia!! PB&J is such a classic and always a hit with kids (and adults alike!). Love the idea of easy no-bake snacks; they disappear in the blink of an eye in my kitchen!

    • You just can’t beat no-bake snacks (especially when they’re healthy, too! :D)! We love how quick and easy they are to make, and how fast our kiddos and all their friends devour them! They really are such a hit with everyone! Have an awesome weekend Amy, and thanks so much for your always-lovely comments! 😀 ~G&S

  4. Congrats on the guest post, Shelley & Gretchen! Perfect choice to post these! I’m loving these kinds of healthy raw snacks lately.
And for the record, I still eat peanut butter and jelly (well, we call it jam, but anyway …) at least a couple of mornings a week for breakfast. I love it! Sometimes you can’t beat a classic!

    • Lol, Nazneen! Neither of us is QUITE to the mega-melodrama stage, but it’s for sure fast approaching! Gahhhhh! And you … with three teenage girls at once?!?!? Seriously – diaper bags and strollers sound easier than that! You need the super-mega pack of Snack Bites to give you enough energy to get through that!!!! (We’ll try to find time to fire up a production facility and get your mega order shipped ASAP! Until then … hang in there … :D) ~G&S

    • Hi, Sharon! You’re so sweet! Thank you for the really kind compliment on the photos! Gretchen is the wizard behind the lens … I just stand around poking away stray crumbs or holding a white board at impossible angles! I thought she did an awesome job on this shoot, too, and coming from you, that compliment really means a lot!!! 😀 And yep – we for sure know you’re a Snack Bite lover! Can’t go wrong with some protein and whole-grain fiber to get you through a busy day! Yum! ~Shelley

    • Yay! Sounds like maybe we should start a PB&J fan club! Turns out there are tons of adult PB&J lovers out there … not to mention all the kiddos! You get to be the first Club president, m’kay? We’re flying out to your house for the first meeting … be ready! 😀 ~G&S

    • Thanks, Kara! We were so excited to do this for Julia! Hope you love these as much as we do – they’re just too perfect when you need some stick-to-your-ribs fiber and protein, but don’t have time to make a gloppy PB&J sandwich as you dash out the door! 😀 ~G&S

  5. I remember shopping with a teenager who usually experienced an energy crash well before the “fun” was over. There was always a wayward piece of candy in my purse that saved the day.
A snack bite from THK would have been a better choice. These gems could also have helped avoid the inevitable sugar crash later.
    Great post!

    • What a cute story! Trust me … I am living this scenario myself! When we’re out shopping or having some sort of adventure, my normally sweet daughter sometimes slowly slides into a not-quite-so-sweet state … and all of the sudden I frantically realize, “Oh my gosh! Feed her!!!! Quick!!!!!” (even though she says she’s not hungry). Like magic, a little nutrition in her system and she’s back to being my lovely little girl again. Huh. … Yep – Snack Bites have saved the day for us, no doubt! (And no sugar crash later, either :D)! Thanks for taking the time to leave such a nice comment! Have a great weekend! ~Shelley

    • Yay! Another PB&J lover! It’s just one of those things you never really outgrow, right?!? The one thing PB&J just doesn’t have going for it is portability (after having a lovely sandwich smashed in a briefcase or under the toys in your toddler’s bag … well, you start to put a premium on portability!). Problem solved! PB&J meets a portable, grab-n-go package! And hey – thanks for sharing our excitement about guest posting! Have an awesome weekend! 😀 ~ G&S
